AMeBA and its Membership Committee are excited to announce another virtual article discussion and networking event! This will be a continuation of our last article discussion held in April. There was so much to discuss, we were unable to fit it all into 1 hour. Luckily, you do not have to have attended the April discussion to join this one. You will just need to read the article below and sign up.

We will be discussing "Kind Extinction: A Procedural Variation on Traditional Extinction" by Tarbox, Tarbox, Bermudez, Silverman, and Servellon.

The event will take place via Zoom on Monday, 8/12 at 6:00 and will offer 1 free CEU. Come meet colleagues in the field and leave with practical tools you can use with your learners and their teams. This discussion would be beneficial for practitioners in various settings and roles including BCBAs, educators, direct service providers, caregivers, and anyone interested in human behavior.

Participants will leave the article discussion able to:

1. Summarize the content of the article and describe at least 2 advantages to applying a procedural variation to traditional extinction procedures.

2.  Describe how these new procedures will give the same status to social validity as practitioners, have historically given to objective measurement.

3.  Discuss the impact of traditional extinction procedures on caregivers and their acceptance of ABA methods.

4.  Discuss how this procedure aligns with the BACB Code of Ethics

Sign up by pressing the green button at the top, read the article, and you're good to go! All that will be left to do is get your favorite summer lounge chair and sign on when August 12th rolls around. See you there!
